I've booted with driver signing check disabled, and manually selected the windows 8.1 圆4 drivers, and at the end of the process, I get 'access denied'. But, now the issue, is that it is showing up as 'microsoft ps/2 mouse' in device manager. During a previous re-install, I managed to get this to work by disabling driver signing enforcement, but somehow, the gestures would constantly reset on reboot, never really found a solution to this (assuming I get this far, I'd like to hear suggestions, I'm thinking I need to freeze some registry entries, but using a scanner, I found 14k entries were changed, related to ELAN). It has an ELAN touchpad, I know for a fact it is not synaptic, nor works with those drivers, and to work correctly, requires ASUS smart gesture, as far as I know. I recently re-installed windows 8.1 圆4 on my Asus UX305FA laptop.
